Our world faces a growing crisis of animal neglect and abandonment, especially when it comes to disabled pets. These vulnerable animals are too often discarded, ignored, or denied the chance to heal. The ongoing exploitation of animals causes widespread suffering and contributes to environmental strain.
At Forever Wheelchair, we are changing the narrative—one rescue at a time. Through animal rescue, pet rehabilitation, and powerful storytelling, we give disabled animals the second chance they deserve, and inspire others to see their value, strength, and right to a life full of love and mobility.

History of Forever Wheelchair
Founder: Oscar Fernando Ruiz Bonilla
Forever Wheelchair was born from love, innovation, and an unshakable belief that disabled animals deserve to live fully. The sanctuary is the vision of Oscar Fernando Ruiz Bonilla, a lifelong animal rescuer from Colombia whose determination gave life to a project unlike any other. Alongside him is his wife, Trần Anh Thư, a passionate animal advocate and the heart behind the sanctuary’s early storytelling efforts. Together, they now care for over 100 rescued animals—including cats, dogs, pigs, cows, goats, and even a disabled monkey.
Oscar’s journey took a pivotal turn in Vietnam when he met Moto, a small pug with a leg impairment. Disheartened by the lack of quality mobility aids, Oscar designed his first custom wheelchair. It changed Moto’s life—and became the spark for something far greater.
From that first rescue, Forever Wheelchair has grown into a sanctuary and custom wheelchair lab dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming disabled animals. Today, while Oscar continues to lead with creativity and compassion, Thư’s storytelling legacy lives on through a growing media team—spreading love, awareness, and second chances around the world. Because at Forever Wheelchair, every life deserves to move forward.
Trần Anh Thư – Co-Founder and Chief Storyteller of Forever Wheelchair
Trần Anh Thư began her journey as a medical student, driven by a desire to heal and help others. However, her path took a transformative turn when she discovered a profound calling to advocate for animals with disabilities. Fueled by deep empathy and unwavering compassion, Thư left her medical studies to dedicate herself fully to animal welfare. Together with her husband, Oscar, she co-founded Forever Wheelchair, a sanctuary in Vietnam committed to rescuing and rehabilitating animals with special needs. As the voice behind the sanctuary’s social media, Anh Thư has become a gifted storyteller, sharing powerful stories of the animals’ resilience and courage. Her heartfelt storytelling has resonated deeply with audiences primarily in Vietnam, building a strong community of support. Now, she looks forward to expanding the sanctuary’s mission and reaching animal lovers worldwide to raise greater awareness and inspire action for handicapped animals everywhere.
